Role Title: Senior General Quality Assurance Engineer

Summary
We are looking for a Senior General Quality Assurance Engineer to help ensure our products are reliable, secure, and ready for customers. In this role, you will own and improve QA practices across the development lifecycle, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer-facing teams to prevent defects and raise quality standards. You will combine hands-on testing expertise with a pragmatic, continuous-improvement mindset to strengthen how we plan, test, and release software.

Key Responsibilities
• Define and continuously improve QA strategies, test plans, and quality gates across the SDLC for web, API, and/or mobile products.
• Execute and coordinate functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing to validate product behavior and usability.
• Build and maintain automated tests (UI, API, and/or integration) to increase coverage and reduce time-to-release.
• Establish clear defect triage processes, write high-quality bug reports, and partner with Engineering to drive issues to resolution.
• Create and manage test data, environments, and release validation checklists; ensure repeatable and auditable test execution.
• Monitor quality metrics (defect leakage, escape rate, flaky tests, cycle time) and recommend targeted improvements.
• Collaborate with Product to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and edge cases; advocate for testability and customer outcomes.
• Participate in design and code reviews as needed to identify risk early and promote quality-by-design practices.
• Mentor QA team members and contribute to documentation, standards, and shared tooling to scale quality practices.
• Support incident and post-release analysis by reproducing issues, assessing impact, and helping define preventative actions.

Must-Have Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, or Software Testing with demonstrated ownership of product quality.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, including exploratory testing, risk-based testing, and regression strategy.
• Hands-on experience with test automation for UI and/or APIs using modern frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, REST-assured, Postman/Newman, or similar).
• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum practices, and how QA integrates with CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to write clear test documentation: test plans, test cases, acceptance criteria feedback, and release sign-off notes.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize testing based on risk and customer impact.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, Design, and Support stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
• Performance and load testing experience (e.g., JMeter, k6, Gatling) and/or security testing familiarity (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Xray) and issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
• Experience implementing quality metrics dashboards and improving flaky test detection and stability.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading QA initiatives across multiple teams or products.
