Job Title: Middle Next.js Software Engineer

Summary
We’re looking for a Middle Next.js Software Engineer to build and evolve modern, high-performing web applications used by real customers at scale. In this role, you’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teammates to deliver polished user experiences, reliable APIs, and maintainable front-end architecture. You’ll have meaningful ownership, room to influence technical decisions, and support to grow your craft.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain production features using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Develop responsive, accessible UI components and shared design-system patterns that scale across products.
• Implement server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG/ISR), and routing strategies to optimize performance and SEO.
• Integrate front-end experiences with REST/GraphQL APIs and collaborate on API contracts with back-end teams.
• Optimize page performance (Core Web Vitals), bundle size, caching, and overall user experience across devices and browsers.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) and contribute to CI/CD quality gates.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help uphold engineering standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, contribute to root-cause analysis, and improve observability (logging, metrics, monitoring).
• Collaborate with product and design to clarify requirements, estimate effort, and deliver in iterative releases.
• Document decisions and technical approaches to ensure long-term maintainability and smoother onboarding.

Must-Have Requirements
• 3+ years of professional software development experience, including strong recent experience with React and Next.js.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+), with a solid understanding of asynchronous programming.
• Hands-on experience with SSR/SSG/ISR, performance optimization, and debugging in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS (including responsive layouts), and web accessibility (WCAG principles).
• Experience integrating with APIs (REST and/or GraphQL), handling authentication/authorization, and managing client-side state.
• Familiarity with testing practices and tools (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress).
• Comfortable working with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and take ownership of deliverables end-to-end.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience with Node.js and building/maintaining Next.js API routes or backend-for-frontend (BFF) services.
• Knowledge of app security best practices (OWASP concepts, secure auth flows, dependency management).
• Experience with modern styling approaches (CSS Modules, Tailwind, styled-components) and component libraries.
• Familiarity with monorepos and tooling (Nx, Turborepo, pnpm workspaces).
• Experience with internationalization (i18n), SEO strategies, analytics instrumentation, and A/B testing.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and edge deployments (Vercel, AWS, Cloudflare) and caching/CDN strategies.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio showcasing shipped web applications.
