Middle QA Engineer

Role Title: Middle QA Engineer

Summary
We are looking for a Middle QA Engineer to help ensure our products are reliable, user-friendly, and ready for release. In this role, you will plan and execute testing across web and/or mobile applications, collaborate closely with developers and product stakeholders, and continuously improve our QA practices. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a measurable impact on quality while working in a supportive, cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, document, and maintain clear test plans, test cases, and test checklists based on product requirements and acceptance criteria
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing for new features and bug fixes
• Identify, reproduce, and document defects with strong troubleshooting details (steps, logs, evidence, expected vs. actual results)
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design to clarify requirements and improve testability early in the development lifecycle
• Validate API behavior using tooling (e.g., Postman) and verify data correctness at the database level when needed
• Participate in release readiness activities, including risk assessment, go/no-go input, and post-release verification
• Support and improve QA processes: test documentation standards, defect triage routines, and quality metrics reporting
• Contribute to test automation efforts by helping define candidate scenarios and maintaining automated suites where applicable
• Ensure coverage for non-functional needs such as usability, compatibility, and basic performance checks aligned with product goals
• Actively share findings, propose improvements, and help create a quality-focused culture across the team

Must-Have Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in software testing (web and/or mobile)
• Strong understanding of QA fundamentals: SDLC/STLC, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle
• Hands-on experience writing test cases and executing test runs with clear, structured documentation
• Confident in bug reporting and communicating issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience testing REST APIs (e.g., using Postman) and understanding HTTP basics
• Familiarity with version control basics (e.g., Git) and working in a team delivery process
• Experience with test management and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or similar)
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under deadlines

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience with test automation (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium) or writing scripts (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java)
• Experience with CI/CD and integrating tests into pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Knowledge of SQL for data validation and troubleshooting
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6) or basic security testing awareness
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and participating in refinement and sprint ceremonies
• Exposure to accessibility and cross-browser/cross-device testing practices
