General QA Engineer

Role Title: General QA Engineer

Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented General QA Engineer to help ensure our products meet high standards of reliability, usability, and performance. In this role, you will partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Design to plan, execute, and continuously improve testing practices that support frequent, high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test checklists based on product requirements and user workflows
• Execute manual functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across web and/or mobile applications
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and expected vs. actual results
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues, validate fixes, and confirm release readiness
• Contribute to improving QA processes, including definition of done, acceptance criteria, and test coverage reviews
• Perform basic API testing and validate data integrity using tools such as Postman and simple SQL queries where applicable
• Support test environment readiness by coordinating builds, test data, and access needs
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives) and provide quality-focused input
• Report testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to the team in a timely, transparent way

Must-Have Requirements
• 1+ years of experience in QA/testing (or equivalent hands-on testing experience through internships, bootcamps, or projects)
• Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, defect lifecycle, and test design techniques
• Experience executing manual tests and producing clear, actionable bug reports
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ways of working
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners
• High attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Xray) and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
• Exposure to test automation concepts and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and willingness to learn scripting
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD concepts and how testing fits into delivery pipelines
• Experience with API testing, JSON, and authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, tokens)
• Basic SQL skills for validating data and troubleshooting issues
• Experience testing mobile apps (iOS/Android) or cross-browser compatibility
